In loving memory of Barry Heyward, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 09, 2024. Barry Heyward was born on August 6, 1961, in Charleston, South Carolina to
the late Ulysses Heyward and Florine Alethia Heyward. Barry was a dedicated tax accountant and owner of A1 Accounting & amp; Tax Center, LLC, whose meticulous work touched the lives of many. Beyond his profession, he was known for his warm heart and willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he leaves behind a legacy of compassion and selflessness. He was a devoted father, cherished brother, and beloved friend.
Four siblings proceed him in death, Maxine Ramsey, Larry Heyward (Carolyn), Darryl Heyward (Tonia), and Ulysses “Slim” Sanders. He leaves behind beloved former wife Rose Heyward, and four children, Barry L. Heyward, Karey Heyward, Shantana Cooper (Aaron), and Jessica Heyward (Kevin). He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, whose laughter and smiles brought him immense joy in his later years, Kevon Heyward, Kaitlyn Heyward, Ariel Heyward, Abigal Heyward, Samiyah Heyward, Aaron M. Cooper, Madison Cooper, Wesley Cooper, Daniel Cooper, Seray Cooper, and Karter Cobbs.
Barry is survived by his uncle Cornelius “Harrison” Hamilton, aunts Elizabeth “Liz” (Benjamin Jenkins) and Charlotte (Jake Jenkins), and siblings George “Samuel” Jenkins, Florine “Margie”
Pinckney, Ulysses “Nathan” Heyward, Allen “Mark” Heyward (Pamela), Rosalind Heyward, Florence Davis, Betty “Sarah” Greenidge and Tomasina Heyward. Also, a host of cousins, nieces,
nephews, and friends near and far. Barry will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his kindness and generosity. May he rest in peace, knowing he made the world a better place.
