Apostle Ruby Jane Garvin-Martin

Apostle Ruby Jane Garvin-Martin passed away on March 24, 2024. She was born on May 25, 1948, to the late James and Lueveania Garvin.

Apostle Ruby received her formal education in Hampton Country Public School and was a graduate of the North District Training School in Hampton, SC in 1965. She attended the Beauty School of Savannah G.A. and became a licensed cosmetologist.  She also attended Benedict College with a degree in Business Management and graduated from Columbia Biblical Seminary of Columbia with a master's degree in Theology and Religious counseling.

She received the call to Ministry in 1993 and was ordained as a minister, in 2014 she was appointed as an Apostle. She was passionate about preaching and teaching the word to God.

Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to operate her own Beauty Salon and develop her hairline products along with M&M Product Company. She was the CEO and founder of “Multi Community Center” and Founder of Jehovah Jireh International, where she ran many communities’ base programs. She worked for Westinghouse in Hampton South Carolina. 

Apostle Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Carolyn Garvin, and Albertha Garvin.

She will be missed by her only daughter: Samantha “Tammy” Joyner-Jackson (James); her only grandson: Sterling Joyner; great-grandchildren: Zeniyaa Joyner, Cairo Joyner, and Lovelyn Joyner; granddaughter-in-law: Janey Joyner; six aunts: Delma Wright, Mary Bessant (Simeon), Elizabeth Wright, Ivory Simmons, Dr. Volia Thompkins, and Lorraine Bonaparte; five uncles: Wallace Lee Wright, William Wright, Elder Addison Wright Jr. (Uma), Charles Wright (Jo-Ann) and Joseph Garvin; three nieces: Eleanor Fennell, Renita Williams, and Shanta Williams (Cleveland); many grand nieces and nephews, spiritual daughters: Ann Griffin and Minister Debra Grace; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
