1950~2022

Willie Barnes was the son of the late Eartha Lee James-Barnes and Titus Barnes. Willie was born July 29, 1950 in Orangeburg, SC. He was called home to eternal rest on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Willie was educated in the public school system of New York were he later graduated. In his early years he joined Union Hill Baptist Church of Holly Hill, SC. He joined in marriage on July 29, 1993 to Gardenia Vogt.

He was a skillful electrician and forklift driver until he became ill.

Willie leaves to cherish his loving memory: his beloved wife: Gardenia Barnes of Bowman, SC; three daughters: Victoria Browton of New York, Constance (Shaquille) Shaw of Holly Hill, SC; and Marquieta (Tracy) McCant of Bishopville; one son: Jimmy Shaw of Columbia, SC; one son-in-law: Anthony Elmore; one aunt: Dorothy Cokey of Holly Hill, SC; four brothers: Richard Barnes of Florida, Deven Barnes of New York, Daniel (Paula) Barnes of Holly Hill, SC, and Earnest Canty   of Macon, GA; four sisters: Patricia (Frank) Mazyck of Holly Hill, SC; Sally Brown of Cope, SC, Teresa Jones of New York, and Victoria McKinnon of New York; six sisters-in-law: Josephine Guess of Vance, SC; Catherine (Steven) Burner of Georgia, Patricia (Kent) Rogers of Columbia, SC, Margaret Vogt of Vance, SC, Dorothy Vogt of Vance, SC, and Estell (Frank) Gadson of New York; three brothers-in-law: Whittaker (Joyce) Vogt of Holly Hill, SC, Charlie (Darlene) Vogt of New York, and Danny (Mary) Vogt of New York; seventeen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
