Vergil Lee Gavins was born March 2, 1953 in Holly Hill, SC to the late Mrs. Annie Jean McFadden and Mr. James Haney.
Vergil received his early childhood education in the Orangeburg County School District. As a young man Vergil relocated to South Miami, FL where he worked many years as a Plasterer and later went on to own his own Lawn Service.
On June 22, 1996, he entered into holy matrimony with Mrs. Karen A. Baker. Vergil loved his family and was always the life of the party. He loved making jokes and if he didn’t fuss you out, you were not his friend.
He was preceded in death by his step father Mr. Daniel McFadden, Sr, brother James Gavins and sister Marie Gavins.
Vergil leaves to mourn: his wife, Karen A. Baker of Hinesville, GA; six daughters: Camila Gavins(DeMarcus) of Gulfport, MS, Christine Gavins of Mobile, AL, Kameka Baker, Keasha Baker, and Varkegria Baker of Hinesville, GA, Vickie Gavins of Atlanta, Ga; one son: Kendrick Baker (Tramicia) of Hinesville, GA; seven grandchildren: Danielle Gavins, Michelle Gavins, Keniyah Baker, Tiarra Baker, Trinity Gore, Armani Gore, his lil twin Nathaniel Cox, Jr.; four great grandchildren: Damia, Kalani, Keegan and Kayden; three brothers: Ervin Gavins (Elaine), Daniel McFadden, Jr and Terry Mc Fadden of Miami, FL; four sisters: Lisa M. Jordan, Jeanette McFadden (David), Reva McFadden of Miami, FL and Sherry McFadden-Moore of Holly Hill, SC; three aunts: Mary Walters (David) of Holly Hill, SC, Shirley Mae banks and Ruthie Mae Banks of Miami, FL.; two uncles: Charles Haney of Holly Hill, SC and Jackie Banks of Miami, FL; two brothers-in-law: Kenny Bellinger (Abigail) and Keith Holmes of Miami, FL; one sister-in-law: Kathy Releford (Rickey) of Jasper, GA.; goddaughter: Monika Cummings and grandchildren: Zamorie Moye and Camora Green
He also leaves a great host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. He will truly be missed.
