Tony Johnson

Tony Johnson son of the late Lewis and Bessie P. President was born on January 10,1960, in Berkeley County. He departed this life on Monday June 7, 2021, at Pruitt Health after a brief illness. 

He was a 1978 graduate of Cross High School. Tony enjoyed sitting outside and walking across the yard to his brother's house. He also enjoyed sitting at Red & White and greeting all the customers as they entered the store. He was also a Dallas Cowboys fan!!

He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Hezekiah President, Elias Johnson, Lewis Johnson Jr., Thurman Johnson, Josie Johnson, and David Johnson; and one sister, Mattie Whitten.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his daughter, Tammeka King; two brothers, Joshua Johnson and Henry (Amy) Johnson both of Cross, SC; one sister, Ruth Johnson of Cross, SC; niece and nephews reared in the home as siblings, Michelle Gaines of Columbia, SC, Mike Johnson of Cross, SC, Elias (Danielle) Johnson of San Antonio, TX, and Johnathan Eason of Cross, SC; four sisters-in-law, Barbara President of Miami, FL, Shirley Johnson of Boston, MA, Linda Johnson and Mary Johnson both of Cross, SC; one brother-in-law, Charles Whitten of Cross, SC; one uncle, Thomas President of Pineville, SC; a close friend, John Huger; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
