Tommy McMillan, son of the late Ozie McMillan and Dorothy Banks McMillan, was born on July 17, 1957, in Holly Hill, SC. He entered internal rest on June 27, 2026, at Trident Medical Center.
Tommy grew up and attended public schools in Holly Hill and in Miami, FL, where he graduated from Miami Coral Gables High School in 1975.
Tommy was an avid reader; he loved researching his family history and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. He loved traveling, going out to eat, and cooking on the grill. He worked for the South Carolina Department of Corrections for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Ruth Banks and Mattie Bryant, his brother Willie “Hammer” McMillan, and his grandson Pierre Jennings.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Tommy(Theryn) McMillan (Miami, FL), Aisha(Victor) Stringer-Wiggins of Cottageville, South Carolina, Sylvania Wright of Summerville, South Carolina, Trava Best of Atlanta, Georgia and Tyneisha(Antonio) Stroman-Turnerof Santee, South Carolina; three sisters: Viola(William) Hunter, New Castle, Delaware, Dothothy Grant, and Rosa McMillan, all of Holly Hill, South Carolina; one brother: Larry (Valerie) McMillan of Holly Hill, South Carolina; nine grandchildren: Cassidy, Alayshia, Khama, Audreana, Khamren, Ayden, Tommy Jr, Ace, and Kamara; two great-grandchildren: best friend: Mr. James Harris of Holly, South Carolina; special friend: Mr. William “Floyd” Lundy of Miami, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and other friends.
