Tawnu Green Obituary

Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun
Life holds so many facets; this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years.

Think how she must be wishing that we could know today
How nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost, and she was loved so much.

Tawnu Denise Green Sister Tawnu Denise Green, affectionately known as Tonya to many and Niece to others, was born on June 8, 1972, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, to the late Eugene Green Sr. and Elsie Smith Felder Green. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, September 7, 2025. at Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital. Raised in the Longridge community. Tonya joined Canaan Christian Church at a young age. Tonya was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. She later became employed with Davis Dry Cleaners, where she served as both receptionist and cashier. She took great pride in her work and cherished her coworkers and customers, who loved her in return. Tonya was a warm, affectionate, and loving soul. To her, everyone was "Hunnie" or "BooBoo." In 1993, she met the love of her life, Mr. Jeffery T. Meyers. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. In 1997, their joy expanded with the birth of their beloved daughter, Denisha J. Meyers. Tonya's happiness grew even more in 2020 with the arrival of her precious granddaughter, Little Miss Maloni Denise Ellison, born to Denisha and Quez Ellison. Tonya adored her family and treasured every moment spent with them. She had a passion for cooking, whether indoors or outdoors, and especially enjoyed crabbing. Many fond memories were made at the crabbing hole, where Tonya would catch and cook crabs surrounded by family and friends. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, listening to music, sitting outside with loved ones, and capturing life's moments through photos and videos on her tablet. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her granddaughter, Maloni. Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Elsie Green; her brothers Sam Felder Jr. and Benjamin Felder Sr.; nephew Allen Johnson, De'Angelo T. Felders Sr., and Lavon D. Green; great nephew Alley Campbell. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted life partner, Mr. Jeffrey Meyers; her loving daughter, Denishia J. Meyers; her cherished granddaughter, Little Miss Maloni Ellison; and her "son-in-love," Quez Ellison, all of Summerville, SC.
