Tanya Roach

Tanya Y. Roach, the second of five children born to Lela Turner and Thomas Hutchinson, was born on March 21, 1962 in Boston, MA. She departed this life on Friday, June 3, 2022.

Tanya lived her early life in Boston, MA, where she attended Cathedral Elementary School. She graduated from West Roxbury High School. Shortly after graduation, she began working at Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Tanya met Marlon J. Roach, and after dating they got married in August 1986. Upon marrying, they moved to Brockton, MA where they started a family with niece Lauren Davila and son Marlon "Nicholas" Roach. They lived in Brocton for 9 years, while Tanya was a devoted stay at home mom. Tanya and the family relocated to Moncks Corner, SC in 2000. Sadly--shortly after relocation, her loving husband Marlon passed away due to illness.

Tanya started her career again, working at Lil Angels Daycare Center and New Beginnings of Charleston (Group Home). Through her career, she pursued her true passion  - caring for the youth. At New Beginnings she took care of children with emotional and behavioral disabilities. She would do activities with them, such as fishing, going to church, and taking them to their doctor's appointments. No matter their situation, she made them feel cared for and inspired them to accomplish anything they put their mind to. She continued her education at Springfield College and received her Bachelor of Science on August 31, 2014.

Tanya was a faithful member at Word in Life Outreach Ministry. She was a choir member for many years, she served on the Senior Missionary Board, served as the financial secretary of the Women Ministry, and loved to share the word of God with everyone! Every morning she sent scriptures to all her loved ones. She was a faithful servant of the Lord who truly loved and cared for her family and friends. She was looked upon as a great listener, advisor, comforter, and nurturer.

She leaves to cherish her enduring and unfading memory: her loving son, Marlon N. Roach. Brother and Sisters; Thomas Chris Hutchinson (Anne), Stacey Wilson (Anthony), Faye Austin (Rick), and Gwedolyn Crawford. Nieces and Nephews: Troy Brathwaite, Kristina Hutchinson, Elysia Hutchinson, Sean Gibbs, Ryan O'Neal, Lauren Davila, Leah Hutchinson, Brittany Austin, Tyler Wilson, Trevor Hutchinson, PJ Austin. Additional family members: Mother Barbara Daniels & family, Mother Evelyn Crawford & family, Mother Anna Shelton, Sis Betty Hutchinson, Mr. Isaac and Mrs. Sandra Wright, Ms. Claudia Hamby; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
