Shantell Alona Melvin, 50, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love on March 23rd, 2025. She was born January 30th, 1975, to the late MaryAnn and William Aiken of James Island. Shantell received her early education in the public school of North Charleston, South Carolina. She had a passion for the United States Youth Services Child Development Center and a teacher to many whenever there was bible study and devotional service. Shantell Alona Melvin loved the lord and Jesus with all her heart, the same way she loved her husband, children, and family. She attended Open Door Church in North Carolina. She was joined in matrimony to Carlos Remon Melvin Sr. on July 15th, 1997, and was blessed with a son, a daughter, and two step-daughters. She was a very humble, God fearing, giving, and compassionate woman. She enjoyed the presence of being with family. Shantell was the life of the party and brought joy to those who were around her. The kindness of her heart touched many. To have known her was to love her. Shantell is survived by her husband Carlos Remon Melvin Sr., son, and daughter Carlos Remon Melvin Jr (Carla), Shakera Carlesha Monique Potter (Jacob); stepchildren Athavia Melvin (Edwin), Aymelashia Melvin; sisters and brother Porscher Aiken, Lavonda Aiken (Jamal), Kentesha Aiken, Kiara Aiken (Jamal), and Damon Brightman (India); nieces and nephews, God daughter Ja’Mya Williams; Laquesha Major, Danaijah Watson, and Javon King Jr. (Katherine); and grandchildren Lyric Myles, Melonie, and Reign.
