Mr. Samuel Fogle, son of the late Frank Fogle and late Alice Fairnot Fogle Montgomery was born on December 1, 1934 in Holly Hill, South Carolina and entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2021 at South Miami Hospital in South Miami, Florida.
Samuel affectionately known as "Sammy" attended the public school system in Holly Hill, SC ending in his education at Roberts High School. Growing up in Holly Hill he loved playing baseball and was a pretty good player.
Later in life he moved to Miami, Florida where he met and married the late Estelle Vogt Fogle in November 1955. To this union four children were born, one girl and three boys. The eldest son, Samuel Fogle Jr. and the youngest son Frank C. Fogle preceded him in death. He work the majority of his life as a custodian and maintenance worker, and was the handyman sought out by family and friends to make household repairs. He was very outgoing, and had a keen sense of humor. He was known to burst out with a gospel song where ever, when ever the spirit hit him.
Sammy remained in Miami, Florida until he and his wife Estelle retired and moved to Vance, SC in 1996. There he enjoyed reminiscing and visiting with family and friends, growing a garden and tinkering in his tool shed. After the loss of his wife Estelle in May 2013 he returned to Miami where he lived with his daughter Barbara until his passing.
He will be forever be in our hearts and minds and leaves many precious memories to be cherished by his two daughters: Doris Span (Tamarac, Fl) and Barbara A Fogle (Miami, Fl). One son: George E Fogle (Palm Beach, Fl); seven grandchildren: Tommy L McMillan (Miami, Fl), Demetress Hamilton (Miami, Fl), Arlyn (Ellen) Richardson (Los Angeles, Calf), Diana (Richard) Waldon (Columbus, GA), Floravia Fogle (Palm Beach, Fl), Brittany Plummer (Alexandria, VA) and Georgette Fogle (San Antonio, Tx); sisters: Alice Fogle Lee Shannon (Miami, Fl) and Lillie Ann (Charlie) Heyward (Holly Hill, SC); brothers: Marvin (Minnie) Montgomery ( Kansas City, Mo) and Andrew James "Jimmy" (Hazel) Montgomery (Holly Hill, SC); sister-in-laws:
Mariah Washington (New York); Ernestine McKnight (Miami, Fl), Eula Baker (Vance, SC); plus a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
