Ruth Robinson Obituary

Ruth Mae Robinson was born on October 10, 1946, in Holly Hill, SC. She was the beloved daughter of Retha Nash Simmons and the late William Nash, Jr. On June 24, 2022, Ruth answered the call of her Heavenly Father and entered eternal life. Ruth attended School # 6 and Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey and studied Geriatric Care.  Additionally, she was an active member of the NAACP in her younger years, and a dedicated Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.

Having an entrepreneurial spirit, Ruth was a creative arts and crafts enthusiast with her specialty being sewing and designing blankets. Winning an award for quilting, she was inventive and artistic and made various hats, scarves, and pottery. Additionally, Ruth was thrifty and loved going to Walmart, yard sales, and the flea market looking for the best deals.

Some of Ruth’s favorite pastimes were watching “Wagon Train” and “Maury.”  She also enjoyed various genres of songs such as “The Lord Will Make A Way Somehow”, “Pass Me Not”, “Break Every Chain”, “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay”, and “Love and Happiness.”

Ruth was a member of Antioch Holiness Church in Cross, SC, and served on the Missionary Board. Throughout the years, she used her creative skills to teach at various vacation bible schools. While on dialysis for nearly 15 years, she remained strong and loved talking about the Lord. Ruth was a giver with the knack of making people smile and laugh.

Ruth was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Pinesse Gilmore.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: mother, Retha Nash Simmons of Cross, SC; two sisters: Pamela Davenport of West Columbia, SC, and Brenda Campbell of Charleston, SC; three sons: Anthony (Tammy) Robinson of Eugene, OR; Christopher (Danna) Jones of Ludowici, GA; and Steven Jones of Holly Hill, SC; nine grandchildren:  Alexander, Anthony, Milena, Tanisha, Christopher, David, Saxxon, Maddison, and Asia; and eight great grandchildren with one on the way.
