Ms. Rosa Mae Snell Burden, the daughter of the late Aline Snell Myers and Ned Randolph, was born on August 3, 1946, in Holly Hill, South Carolina.
She grew up in Holly Hill and attended Roberts High School. In 1964, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts. While in Boston, she furthered her education and received her high school diploma. After graduation, she became employed at Polaroid Corporation where she worked until retirement.
In 1995, she relocated to Holly Hill, South Carolina. Following in her mother's footsteps, she started a garden, raising goats, chickens, turkeys, and ducks. She spent the majority of her time outdoors, enjoying her garden, fruit trees and flowers. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and any task that they asked her to do, she would do it. She enjoyed baking for her grandchildren.
She rejoined Briner Christian Church upon her return to Holly Hill where she became a member of the Usher Board. She continued her Christian walk New Way Church House of Ministries Worldwide.
Ms. Burden was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Robert Myers, Peter Snell, and James Snell.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: a daughter, Elizabeth Burden of Holly Hill; sons, Albert Floyd Burden of Harleyville, SC and Christopher (Jacquelyn) Demetrius Burden of Arlington, TX; sisters, Eula Benjamin of Holly Hill, Minnie (Bennie) Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; ten grandchildren with a granddaughter, Shannon Burden, reared in the home, ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
