Ronald Earl McNeill, affectionally known as Mac, was born on February 10, 1959, to Cleveland and Loretta McNeill. Ronald graduated from high school in 1977 and immediately joined the US Army - where he served for 22 years. Ronald was stationed in several places – Panama, Germany, Indianapolis, IN, Korea and Columbia, SC. In October 1981, while in Germany, he met Brenda Cunningham – they were married on October 22, 1982. To this union three sons were born - Ronald II, James, and Jeremy.
While serving Ronald earned several medals, badges, and awards. The Meritorious Service Medal (2); Army Commendation Medal (5); Army Good Conduct Medal (7); National Defense Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, the Overseas Service Ribbon (3) and an Army Service Ribbon. Ronald retired honorably as a SFC in 1999 from Fort Jackson. After retiring from the military, he worked for South Carolina Department of Corrections, Department of Army Police and was a dispatcher for E911 Emergency Service.
Ronald was a God-fearing man – he loved the Lord and was an awesome teacher of the Word. His favorite book of the Bible was II Timothy. Ronald was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He departed this life on October 3, 2022, at the age of 63. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brothers (Herman and Cleveland Jr.).
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Brenda; three sons, Ronald (Trena), James and Jeremy (Jaccia Wilson); a grandson, Nathan Jones; a sister, Mary Smith(NC); a sister-in-law, Theresa Robinson (Paul)(MD); an aunt, Leemora Pearson(MD); a niece/sister, Della Massey(NC); a special cousin, Albertine McKeithan(NC) and a host of other relatives and friends.
