Minister Roberta Duberry James was born May 29, 1957 in Tampa Florida, to Isaac and Louise Mae Pryor Duberry.
She grew up in Tampa Florida attending public school and singing in the choir at New Progress Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Voices of Hope gospel group for 5 years.
After graduation from High School, she attended FAMU (Florida A & M University) pursuing a degree in Speech Therapy. In later years, she attended the University of Phoenix and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She pursued a career as a Personal Care Assistant for Girswald and Caregivers for the past 5 years.
Roberta was called home to our Lord on November 21, 2019, leaving many to share her precious memories: two daughters, Ajasha Finney of Jonesboro, GA and Endiya Duberry of Harleyville, SC; three grandchildren, Shemar, Kyelin, and Caiya, and a son-in-law, William Finney of Jonesboro, GA; a brother in Christ and friend, William Wheeler of Tampa, FL, three God sisters, Norma Pierce, Traci Parks, and Saminthia Jackson of Tampa, FL, and many other family and friends.
