Richard Ravenell

Richard Ravenell was born on March 23, 1947, in Loris, SC to the late Pringle Ravenell Sr. and Annie Bell Simmons Ravenell. The family moved to Hartsville, SC where he attended Butler High School.

At an early age he became a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to St. James Baptist Church in Eutawville, SC. Richard attended Roberts High School. Upon graduating he married and moved to Brooklyn, NY. He was employed for over thirty and retired from IBEW Local Union #3.

After retiring Richard and his wife returned to Eutawville, SC.

After the death of his wife, Richard and Laura Collier were joined in marriage. He departed his life on September 26, 2021 with his lovely wife Laura by his side.

He was a loving son, brother, husband father, grandfather, uncle, and a good friend to those who knew him. He loved to tell jokes.

He was also preceded in death by daughter Wanda Ravenell, Franklin Ravenell, Elizabeth Ashby Pringle, and Sam Ravenell Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Laura Ravenell , son : Terrence Tiger” Ravenell of New York , Chanel Clayton of Georgia; his stepchildren : Travis Johnson, Camron Grant, Daeyon Ladson, Shawntiyona Dorant, and grandchildren; loving siblings : Laura Lawson of Brooklyn, NY, Katie & Jacques Monplaisir of Miami, Fl, Annie & Elick Gadson of Queens, NY and Fannie & Calvin Rice of Moore, SC and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family
