Mother Rebecca High Jamison affectionately known as “Ratt” was born on June 14, 1925 to the late Willie and Rebecca Pettigrew High.
Mother Rebecca gained her wings on Thursday, January 6, 2022 after a long battle with dementia.
Mother Rebecca grew up and attended school in Orangeburg County. She was later joined in marriage to the late John Henry Jamison.
Mother Rebecca and her husband resided in Vance, SC, where she then joined First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. L. Ulmer, she was a faithful member and served on the usher board.
She had a passion for taking care of children especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mother Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband: John Henry Jamison; her siblings: Lucy Taste Morton, Mae Bell Pinkney, Ann Johnson, Eunice Pinkney, Elnora King, Lucious High, Daniel High, Rosa Lee Washington, Lizzie Ladson, and George Sellers.
Mother Rebecca leaves to cherish her memories: Her one and only son, John H. High; grandchildren: Donnell (Quiana) Asbury, Heneritta (Jesse) James, and Jermaine (Susan) High; four great-grandchildren: one sister: Mother Rose L. High Jenkins-Clinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
