Rayshawn DeRayne Randolph, son of the late Linda Profit and the late Larry Randolph,
was born on August 23, 1981, in Orangeburg, SC. His life’s journey ended at Trident
Medical Center in North Charleston, SC, on November 12, 2024.
Shawn grew up in the “Jugtown” community of Holly Hill and, early in life, joined Briner
Christian Church, where he nurtured his faith. He worked several jobs throughout his
life, and his most recent employment was at Food Lion in Santee, SC, which provided
him the opportunity to care for his family and build lasting friendships.
In 1998, Shawn met the love of his life, Kenya Gaines. The two were married in 2002,
and Shawn and Kenya built a beautiful life together, raising two children. Kenya
remained by his side through thick and thin, especially during his illness, demonstrating
a love and devotion that will never be forgotten.
Shawn leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. He is survived by his
wife, Kenya Randolph, of Vance, SC; a son, Deon Gaines, of Orangeburg, SC; and a
daughter, Hykia Gaines, of Santee, SC. He also leaves behind two cherished
grandchildren, Kali Davis, and Noah Frederick. Additionally, Shawn is survived by his
stepfather, David Profit; brothers Andrew (Cassandra) Randolph of Orangeburg and
Derrick (Rachel) Randolph of Columbia, SC; sister Jessica Profit of Aiken, SC; as well
as his sisters-in-law, Chandra (Orlando) Washington, Christal Gaines, Kimberly (Cecil)
Elmore, Kenneth Gaines, and Matthew Gaines, III. He is also survived by his special
aunt and uncle, Annette and John Butler, and his special cousin and "roadie," Matthew
(Brittany) Washington. Shawn will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nephews,
nieces, cousins, and many other family members and friends.
Shawn's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will always be
remembered for his generosity, work ethic, and the unwavering love he gave to his
family.
