Quinnie Edwards Obituary

Mrs. Qunnie Lee Irick Edwards, affectionately known as “BLONDIE” daughter of the late Mr. Charles Irick and Mrs. Carrie Lee Robinson Green Irick, adopted daughter of the late Mr. Claudie and Mrs. Carrie Pressley Stoutamire was born November 19, 1951, Orangeburg, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life to go home to the Lord on February 6, 2024. She is now where no more pain or disease can affect her body. By Grace, she is now restored to a healthy body.

She grew up in Holly Hill, attended the public schools there and later attended South Carolina State University. She held several jobs early in adulthood and ended her tenure in the workforce as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Orangeburg County School District. She was known for her culinary talent and you could always get a meal at her home. She loved cooking and enjoyed seeing people eat what she had prepared. Blondie had a spirit for life! She had a way with words - she was funny, talked jokingly, making you laugh until you were out of breath. Blondie had a love for all types of music and she loved to dance. Whenever you visited her home, you could always hear music playing in the background.

At an early age, Blondie became a member of Bethel AME Church, Holly Hill, SC where she worked diligently until her health declined. She served in various capacities including Lay Organization, Women’s Missionary, Daughters of Sarah, Usher, Trustee and Pastor’s Aid Board. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, the late Mr. Emmanuel Edwards, affectionately called “Jr.” To this union, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Ms. Yolanda T. Edwards and Ms. Latoya C. Edwards. She helped in the rearing and caring of many of her nephews and nieces, including beloved Godson, Jerome Mack (deceased).

Blondie leaves to cherish her loving memories: devoted daughters, Ms. Yolanda T. Edwards and Ms. Latoya C. Edwards, Columbia, SC; sisters, Mrs. Louise G. James, Mrs. Carrie M. Seawright, Mrs. Patricia I. Pearson (Joseph), all of Columbia, SC, one Uncle, Mr. Lawrence (Buster) Irick, Holly Hill, SC, one Aunt, Mrs. Maybelle I.
