Phylicia Alston Obituary

Our hearts are broken forever. People tell us that in time the pieces will eventually come back together.
If this is true, though hard to believe now, there will always be a space,
The piece to which has your name on its place. Tears have been falling now for so long.
When we think of your beautiful face, it all seems so wrong.
You had so much to look forward to and so much left to do,
But God needed somebody in heaven who is as special as you.

In Loving Memory of Phylicia Renea Alston, My
Second Daughter and Niece
As I laid in bed this morning, reflecting on our tragic loss, I found myself praying to God
for guidance and strength during this time of grief, sadness, and heartbreak. In that
moment, a glimmer of sunshine pierced my heart, and I asked God to give me
wisdom—wisdom to find the words that could help transform my voice, words that would
reflect the sorrow of a family broken to the core as we mourn the loss of someone so
dear to our hearts, Phylicia Renea Alston.
On Sunday, November 10, 2024, when we were struck by the devastating news, we
each retreated to our corners of the world, not to say goodbye, but to begin the journey
of celebrating the beautiful life of our beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, family
member, and friend—Phylicia. Your laughter, your warmth, your spirit… they brought so
much joy into our lives. You were the bright light that shined through even the darkest
days.
We remember your boundless energy and the way you could light up a room just by
entering it. Your kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew you, and your love
for family and friends was an inspiration to us all. You showed us the true meaning of
compassion, strength, and grace. Your memory will live on in each and every one of us.
As we reflect on the moments we shared, we are filled with gratitude for the time we had
together. Though your time with us was far too short, the impact you had on our lives
will be everlasting. You taught us to cherish each day and hold our loved ones close.
Phylicia, you will forever be in our hearts. Your legacy of love and kindness will continue
to guide us, inspire us, and remind us of the preciousness of life every single day. We
take comfort in knowing you are at peace, and we will carry your memory with us
always.
Rest in peace, our sweet angel. Uncle Prince, you knew my love for you was endless.
