Mr. Abraham Prioleau Obituary

Mr. Abraham "Booster" Prioleau, a beloved family patriarch, and pillar of the community, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Roper St. Francis Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. At the age of 91, Abraham leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will endure in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He was the sixth child born to the late Isaac and Rose Taste Prioleau on June 16, 1933 in Eutawville, South Carolina. With the opening of the day on April 14, 2025, God whispered in to Abraham's ear and said, "son you may come home, job well done."

Abraham grew up in Eutawville, S.C. where he attended the Walnut Grove School of Eutawville, S.C. Abraham worked on the farm for many years, where they grew cotton, corn and tobacco. He also enjoyed raising hogs. He then became known as the "Hog Man". He earned this name because of the special love he had for hogs. Abraham worked on the farm until he was employed by Moolloyed Steel Cooperation in Charleston, S.C. for 31 years. His job was to melt steel into a liquid. He retired in 1995, as a heavy equipment operator.

Abraham was a dedicated life-long member of Silas U.M. Church. At an early age, he served on the usher board.

On December 23, 1958, Abraham entered into holy wedlock to Evern James of Holly Hill, S.C. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, broth- er and friend who touched the lives of many through his wisdom, compassion, and his support of helping in his own way. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and the community. Abraham was the only person known for going to the stores in the community, and blow his horn for service and he was well taken care of by everyone.

Abraham affectionally known as "DAD", enjoyed going on family vacations. He enjoyed cruising, and family trips to Florida and Tennessee surrounded by all of his children and grand-children. As you know, he was the life of the vacation as he told his jokes and life experiences. One of his famous messages was one that he learned from a woodpecker. He believed that all people should knock a little, stop and listen.

Abraham was preceded in death by his sister and brothers: Elease (Paul) Middleton, Willie (Mamie Lee) Prioleau, Joe Prioleau, Ruben (Henrietta) Prioleau, Daniel Prioleau, Samuel Prioleau and James (Bernice) Prioleau.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are his loving wife, Mrs. Evern Prioleau of Eutawville, SC. Children; Doris Wright, Bobby (Gwendolyn) Prioleau, Sheila (Leon) Davis, Cathy (John) Huger all of Eutawville, S.C. and Queen (Angelo) Ravenell of Cross, S.C., Bruce (Lakeisha) Prioleau, of Orangeburg, SC.
