Mother Mamie Oliver Obituary

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, our beloved, Mamie W. Oliver beautiful Spirit, leapt from her delicate, petite earthly body and entered into an eternal house in God’s glorious kingdom. Mother Oliver’s Spirit is celebrating and rejoicing with her parents Walter Wright and Effie Butler. She’s also celebrating with two of her children, Harry L. Wright, Sr. and Caroline Abraham. Of course she’s rejoicing with her husband, Mr. Prince Oliver and many of her siblings, family members and friends who took that journey long before.

Mother Oliver accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and she exhibited it through her daily walk. She was a humble and modest woman. A great woman of integrity that did things for the glory of God, not man. Mother Oliver became a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church and has remained faithful and dedicated from the day she joined up to her departure. She was the eldest member of the church. Mother Oliver, served diligently on various committees to include the Pastor’s Aide Board, Christian Aide Society, The Women Auxiliary, The 60 Plus Club and the Kitchen Committee.

She was also a member of the Senior Choir. If anyone asked, she would willfully assist with a joyful heart as long as it lined up with the Word of God. Mother Oliver was a meek and mild mannered Woman of God. She had many hobbies, however her top three were Fishing, Baking and Word Search puzzles. Mother Oliver was delighted whenever she would
receive a word search book (as she would call it). She upgraded to an electronic tablet and was completing several puzzles a day. Record shows that she was on level 8,753 marking 109,782 “Brilliance” level puzzles completed.

Mother Oliver leaves her loving, humble, beautiful memories to be cherished by her Sister, Ola Hughes. Her daughters, Julia O. Prezzy; Mary (Lockwood) Smalls and Martha Harrell. Her Son-in-Law, James Abraham, Her Grandchildren Betty Riley; Damien Oliver; Angela (Richard) Polite; Harry (Judy) Wright; Sylvester Prezzy; Kelita (Kevin) Simmons; Willie Prezzy; Jada Prezzy; Shaundra (Phillip) Shuler; Jamie S. Abraham; Derek P. Wright; Carlos Todd; Sereta Wright; William Coburn and Kearra Wright; 33 Great-Grandchildren and 20 Great-Great Grandchildren; Her two favorite nephews John Felder and Isiah Felder; Her Davis-Wright-Irick and Avinger family, Her Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church family and her four beautiful friends that stuck with her to the end, Rosa Jenkins; Lillie Smalls, Dorothy Snell (Ms. Dot) and Priscilla Jackson. Her Son in Love, Minister Kenneth Harrell and a host of other loving family and friends.
