Don't Cry For Me
By Deborah Garcia Gaitan
Don't cry for me, I will be okay.
Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay.
Don't cry for me, I'm where I belong.
I want you to be happy and try to stay strong.
Don't cry for me, It was just my time,
but I will see you someday on the other side.
Don't cry for me, I am not alone.
The angels are with me to welcome me home.
Don't cry for me, for I have no fear.
All my pain is gone and Jesus took my tears.
Don't cry for me this is not the end.
I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again.
OBITUARY FOR
LOVENIA "LEAMA" MORTON
Lovenia (Leama) Morton was born July 29th, 1939, in Manchester, Jamaica to the parents Alan and Martha Farquharson. Lovenia grew up with 8 siblings, Rosetta, Mileta, Linburn (Marian), Eunice (Scegynald), Elizabeth, Seville, Alanti (Monica), and Nigel (Dawn). She left Jamaica at the early age of 19 years old, to pursue a better career and life to sup- port her family. She would often send barrels to Jamaica to help provide food and clothing for her family. After moving to Miami, Lovenia found work as a housekeeper/nanny for various families while pursuing a career in the medical field. She grew a loving bond to one special family. The Prendivilles. Alongside, she worked 25 years at Doctors Hospital as Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) before retiring.
Lovenia met the love of her life, one day after work. She needed a ride home and a mutual friend sent James to pick her up. That marked the beginning of a beautiful friendship. On March 2nd, 1966 she married James Morton (deceased). In this union, they had 3 children, Wayne Morton, Denise Morton-Scavella, and Sheryl Morton-Hudson (Richard). Lovenia also gained additional family, June Swain (Melvin). Robert Morton (Elinor), and Gale Jones (Don). Loving them as her own.
Lovenia embodied the essence of giving. She was blessed with a caring heart. She loved to share with anyone in whom she came in contact with. All our family and friends felt the love of our mother's beautiful energy, light, and strength that she released to the world. She was an extraordinary, phenomenal woman and the true matriarch. She was the glue and stronghold of our family.
Lovenia had an amazing green thumb, she worked endlessly in her garden. She cultivated the most beautiful plants such as mangoes, pineapples, papaya, and callaloo just to name a few. Lovenia was the best cook in the world. Many remember her by nourishing home cooked meals and the full bellies they left her home with.
Lovenia accepted the Lord and Savior at an early age. Lovenia was a beloved member of the Miami Gospel Chapel for over 25 years. MGC was a second home for her. It allowed her to form lifelong friendships garnered with lots of love and the undoubted presence of God. Lovenia practiced her faith by reading her bible and sharing the word of God to her family, friends, and those who needed it. When she couldn't read any more she used to quote her scriptures from memory and sing her favorite songs/hymns. She was and always will be an amazing wife, mother, sister, auntie, grandmother, cousin and friend.
Lovenia is survived by her brother Alanti (Monica) Farquharson. Sister-in-laws: Morian (Linburn) Farquharson and Dawnie (Nigel) Farquharson, and Annie Mae Morton (George).
