Mrs. Joyce Fuller Council, affectionately known as Nana, was born on September 16, 1945, in Charleston County to the late Lesley Sr. and Lucille Fuller. She entered eternal rest on November 30, 2024. Joyce was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County, where she graduated in 1963. On August 27, 1965, she married the love of her life, Mr. Carlisle (Son) Council, Jr. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters. Joyce dedicated many years to her work as one of the best cooks in Holly Hill, a profession she cherished until health challenges led to her early retirement. Her devotion to family and community was also reflected in her service at Target AME Church, where she was a dedicated member and served on the Stewardess Board until her health began to decline. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister. The words of Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted, "offer solace to all who knew Joyce and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 59 years, Carlisle Council, Jr.; daughters, Rolanda and Michelle Council of Orangeburg, SC; grandson, Ke Mari M. Council, also of Orangeburg; her loving sister, Ruthie Watson of Holly Hill, SC; sisters-in-law, Shirley Jenkins of Holly Hill, SC, Rachel
(Matthew) Shaw of Vance, SC, and Lillian (Fredrick) Johnson of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Her family and loved ones will forever remember her for her strength, love, and the legacy she leaves behind.
