Hazel Bell Devine, daughter of Seymour Williams and Queen Holman was born on February 2, 1937. God called His beautiful angel home on August 4, 2022.
Hazel was born and raised in South Carolina where she met her husband. Shortly after meeting, they moved to Washington, DC. She worked for the National Institute of Health prior to her retirement.
Hazel was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping, getting dressed up, and having fun-time with her siblings and friends.
She was blessed to be able to witness three generations from her loins that came into this world, grew and became parents and grandparents.
Hazel was an extraordinary woman who loved, laughed, and also spoke her mind; and for that, she will forever be in our hearts.
Hazel was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter; Ayonna D. Brown.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: one child: Helen Devine; two grandchildren: Valencia Covert and Timothy (Frankie) Devine; three great-grandsons: Sean Christian Vincent Carmon, Timothy Jackson, and Frank M. Jenkins; four great-granddaughters: Clorrine R. Jenkins, Condrea L. Patterson, Malencia S. Devine, and Timmia V. Devine; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Bertha L. Pearson, Eve Williams and Martha Ann Williams, three sisters-in-love: Guenevera Devine, Cora Lambright, and Patricia Devine; two brothers-in-love: Steve Devine and Nathaniel Devine; and a host of other family members and friends.
