Estelle Young Surles, the daughter of the late James Young and the late Ethel Campbell Young was born on June 3, 1936, in Cary North Carolina. She moved to Holly Hill on October 7, 2022.
She departed this life on May 6, 2024, at her resident in Holly Hill, SC surrounded by her loving family.
“Estelle Young Surles” attended public schools in Wake County and graduated from Wake County High School, May of 1956.
She worked as an “Assemble Packer” at Danskin Company, Broadway New York, New York, and she retired from nursing as a home attendant supervisor in 2000.
Her hobbies were listening to Country music, which she loved dearly, watching The Maury Show, and Judge Mathis, court show.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Lousie Young-Brandon, Blanche Young-Barbee and Beatrice Young-Cooley.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her daughters, Kelly Surles (James E. Battle) of the home, Holly Hill, SC, Kourtney Surles of Bronx, NY and Kim Surles-Billings of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren, Lashae Greene, Jayquan Stukes and Jamel Battle all of Holly Hill, SC, Kuron Greene and Miaha Norales both of Bronx, NY, Eric Dwight of College Park, GA, Keyvon Surles and Keyshon Surles of Marietta, GA.
A special friend as a grandfather, Mr. William “Grandpa” V. Moorman, of Dansville, VA and Apostle Dr. Gaynell Walters, Community Leader and family supporter, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends whom she loved dearly.
