A Life In Review For Missionary Lueveania Wright Garvin

On Tuesday Afternoon, June 16, 2020, at the Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina left her earthly home and transition to be with our Heavenly Father. Missionary Leuveania Garvin has been the stronghold for her family - always providing wisdom, unconditional love and support.

Missionary Garvin was born in Hampton County, SC on November 19, 1927 to the late Bertha McKee-Wright and the late Addison Wright Sr. During her childhood, she attended schools in Brooklyn, NY and moved to SC after her mother's death and completed her education in South Carolina. At an early age she also joined Bethlehem Baptist Church and served on the charity board and senior choir.

Lueveania was joined in holy matrimony to the Late James Benjamin Garvin in 1945 until his untimely passing in March of 1948. She was formerly employed at the Estill Manufacturing Company as a presser until she retired. Upon retirement she willing and devotedly served the seniors in her community.

In 1967, Missionary Lueveania Garvin dedicated her life to Christm serving faithfully as a member and mother of the Barkersville Holiness Apostolic Church in Barkersville, SC for many years until she moved to Columbia, SC. Praising the Lord and worshipping daily was a priority in her life as well as taking care of her family and many friends. Lueveania loved people and was always found caring and giving unselfishly and never expecting anything in return. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was there when you needed her. Her legacy and lasting impression lives on in each of us and we are thankful for the Lord blessing us with her loving spirit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Garvin; loving daughters: Carolyn and Albertha Garvin; Brothers: Otis McKee, Nick Wright Leon Wright Addison Wright II, Edward Wright, John Thomas Wright, Wesley Wright, and Joseph Louis Wright; Sisters: Helen Kearse, Ruth Wright Odum, Lenora Wright Jackson, and Florrie Mae Wright.

Cherishing her everlasting memories are: Daughter: Apostle Ruby-Jane Garvin-Martin of Columbia, SC; Four Grand Children: Eleanor "Nora" Fennell of Lithonia, GA; Shanta` M. Williams (Cleveland) of Irmo, SC; Reniata "Va" Garvin-Williams of Early Branch, SC; Samantha "Tammy" Jackson (James) of Tucson, AZ; Eight Great-Grand Children: Elijah Fennell III (Ashley) of Henderson, CO; Sean Fennell of Lithonia, GA; Bryan Fennell (Tianna) of Yemassee, SC; Brandon Fennell of Miami, FL; Damon and Danielle Williams of Irmo, SC; Brianna Williams of Early, Branch, SC; Sterling Joyner (Jenna) of Columbia, SC; Seven Great Great-Grand Children: Zephania, Zurielle, Elijah IV, and Asa Fennell of Henderson, CO; Bryan Jr. and Bryelle Fennell of Yemassee, SC; and Zeniyaa Joyner of Columbia, SC.

Missionary Lueveania Wright Garvin is also survived by three sisters: Delma Wright, Mary Bessant (Simeon), and Elizabeth Wright; four brothers: Wallace Lee Wright, William Wright, Elder Addison Wright Jr. (Uma), and Charles Wright (Jo-Ann); one devoted brother-in-law Joseph Garvin; and three sisters-in-law: Ivory Simmons, Dr. Volia Thompkins, and Lorraine Bonaparte, and an adopted sister, Rhunette Isom (Raymond). She had a special bond with many of her nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and loving friends, who played a significant part of her life and gave her so much joy.
