Michael Tyrone Griffin, also known as Joe Pete,” the son of the late Lizzie Griffin G. Gilliard and Richard Collier was born July 23, 1971 in Orangeburg, SC.

Michael was reared and educated in the public school of Holly Hill, SC. Michael worked for Ace Auto in Ladson, SC, where he served for many years until his health failed.

Joe Pete entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2022 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC, after suffering from a brief illness.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his sister; Adrena (Eric) Griffin; three brothers; Brandon (Jessica) Griffin of Summerville, SC, Jermaine (Corretta) Griffin of Summerville, SC, Trolene Griffin of North Carolina; one niece; Adreanna Griffin, three nephews; Donaven, Vernon and Christopher Griffin all of the home in Summerville, SC, aunts; Carolyn (Herbert) Collier of Holly Hill, SC, Barbara (Joseph) of Miami, FL, Beatrice (Cain )Walker of Boyer, SC, Mary McCord of Cross, SC, the late Helen (Willie Lee) Fisher of Holly Hill, SC, the late Dorothy (Sunny) Collier of Holly Hill, SC, Lillie (George) Griffin of Summerville, and Clo Collier of Holly Hill, SC; and a host of relatives and friends
