Melvin Collier Obituary

Mr. Melvin Collier son of the late Franklin and Learlean Collier was born on November 23, 1940 in Ridgeville, South Carolina. He was called home to be with the lord on August 24, 2021.
Melvin grew up and was educated in Berkeley County SC. In the 1963 he fell in love and married the former Estell Mack. This union was blessed with five beautiful children, He was employed with Holcim Cement Plant in Holly Hill, SC for over thirty years until his retirement.

Melvin loved and enjoyed serving the lord so at an early age he joined and became a member of the Poplar Hill Christian Church family; where he served faithfully until his health failed.
He was a loving, caring, and devoted family man who loved watching old cowboy movies and soap operas with his oldest daughter, Melvinia. He love to tell stories as much as he loved horses.

Melvin has many family and friends that love and will truly miss him. He was proceeded in death with some dear family member: his son; Irvin Mack, three sisters; Virginia Wilson, Ruth Collier, and Mary Lee Bowman: three brothers; Louis Collier, Arthur Collier, and Frank Collier, Jr: and a grandson Joshua Emmanuel Collier.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories four children: Melvinia (Phillip) Curry, Rosa Mae Collier both of Ridgeville, SC, Linda (James) Davis and Catherine (Jermaine) Spann both of Summerville, SC: eight grandchildren; Laura (Richard) Ravenell Estell Collier, Shamorl (Mary), Markitia, Jaquan (Karlee) Curry, Ramel, Mahalia, Shoundell Davis: seven great-grandchildren; Camron Grant, Deavyon Ladson, Shawntiyona Durant, Ciara, Rihanns Collier, Marion Llod, Shamal Curry: two great-great grandchildren Kamaree Curry and Brooklyn Ladson: one sister; Pasty Graham of Loris, SC: four brothers: Henery (Mary Ann) Collier of Providence, SC, Sammie (Marry Jane), John Lee (Frannie Mae) Collier of Loris, SC, and Nathan Collier of Myrtle Beach, SC along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will truly miss him.
