Mother Marie Tilly Jamison (Mother Of Many) was born on February 23, 1920 to Paul Tilly and Edna Williams Tilly in Vance, SC. She peacefully transitioned into eternal life on March 5, 2021.
Mother Jamison attended Bull School and completed her education in Beaufort, SC. After completing her education she worked in Parris Island, Beaufort, SC. She was joined in Holy matrimony to the Late Winston Jamison. To this union seven children were born.
Mother Jamison joined Live Oak AME Church where she was member of the choir and became the Mother of the Church. She was not just considered a Mother of the Church but a “Mother to Many” She was a woman with a humble spirit that showed honor and respect for everyone she met. She served her community with dignity, pride, integrity and joy. She also enjoyed the simple things in life such as fishing, gardening, farming and building things.
Mother Jamison was preceded in death by her son, Winston Jamison Jr; and two grandchildren, Tamara Jamison and Sharonda Jamison. Mother Jamison leaves behind to cherish her memory: her children, Silas (Rhuddene) Jamison of East Orange, NJ, Lizabeth Jamison of Vance, SC, Neomie Jamison of Eutawville, SC, Pastor Irine Jamison of Sumter, SC, Alfred Jamison of Vance, SC, Teresa Jamison of Eutawville, SC; Step-Daughter, Mayqueen (Bobby) McClary of Columbia, SC; daughter in law, Sylvia Jamison of Vance, SC; her siblings, Woodman Williams, Marylee Young, and Jerry Tilly, Sr.; a godson, Thomas Tilley of Jersey City, NJ; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, ten great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
