Marguerite Lewis

Although you're gone, I'm not alone,
And never shall I be,
For the precious memories of the bond we shared
Will never depart from me.

Our love surpassed the ups and downs
And helped us along the way,
And that same love will give me strength
To manage this loss each day.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Ms. Marguerite Lewis, 87, of Holly Hill, on Monday, January 12, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. 

The family will be receiving visitors at 1369 Sweat Street, Holly Hill, SC

 Thursday and Friday, 3:00 -7:00pm on January 22nd and the 23rd. Please respect the family wishes. 

Mother Marguerite Lewis was born on November 24, 1938, in Holly Hill, SC to the late Florence and James Wilson, Sr.

She graduated from Roberts High School and later relocated to Bronx, NY. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph Willoughby, within his union, she had two loving daughters, Sharon Flood and Valerie Willoughby. Years later, she found love again and ws united in holy matrimony to the late Ivan Lewis. 

Marguerite was employed by NYC Human Resources Administration, where she retired after 25 years of service.

Marguerite returned to Holly Hill in 1995 and rejoined Greater Target AME Church and was a former member of the Daughters of Sarah.

She had a very good sense of humor, always bringing life to a room with her unique laugh. She enjoyed cooking and playing games on her iPhone, which she named "Kia-Know it all." Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Precious memories will always be cherished by her loving daughters: Sharon Flood of the home and Valerie Willoughby of Columbia, SC; two grandsons: Michael Flood of New York and Gabriel Willoughby of Columbia, SC; two great-grands: one brother: Robert (Betty) Wilson of Savannah, GA; a special cousin: Eddie (Janice) Barnett of New York; a devoted niece: Sylvia Black of Holly Hill, SC; a devoted great nephew: Lorenza (Kisha) Black of Georgetown, SC; a devoted friend of the family: Ricky Randolph of Holly Hill, SC; a spiritual daughter: Nekemia Wright of Holly Hill, SC; a dear friend: Dorothy James of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
