Lucille was born on February 29, 1952, to the late Samuel Richardson and the late Viola Holmes Richardson in Berkeley County, SC.
Lucille grew up in the Berkeley County school system and also grew up knowing Christ and receiving him as her Lord and savior.
She was affectionately known and called Cille or pat.
She left home at the age of 16 and met the love of her life Leroy Pinckney Sr.
They were joined together in holy matrimony on October 5, 1968 in Cross, SC. To this union 5 beautiful children was born. She loved her husband and nurtured, protected and loved all of her children.
Pat & Lee wanted a better life for their family and became a long-time resident of Bayonne, NJ. Lucille didn’t let nothing stop her, she had determination and courage. She went back to school and then graduated from New Jersey City University not only receiving her Bachelor’s degree but also Master’s degree in Special Education.
Lucille was an Assistant Teacher at Willowbrook State School from 1987 to 1992. She later became a teacher at PS37 in Staten Island, NY where she retired in June 2016.
She was a very loving and caring person and like a mother to many. She was very giving and loved to bless people in any way she could. Lucille loved watching her vibrant flowers bloom in her garden while the sun shined down on her face. In her spare time, she loved taking cruises and spending time in the bingo hall.
A few years after retirement she moved to Greensboro, NC, until she went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents: the late Samuel Richardson and Viola Richardson; her mother-in-law: Mary Lela Pinckney; father-in-law: Robert Pinckney; her son: Jermaine Pinckney; her sister: Ida Mae brown; her brothers: Joel Richardson, Robert Richardson and Daniel Richardson; sister-in-law: Surprise Pinckney.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her devoted husband: Leroy Pinckney Sr.; her loving children: Vanessa Pinckney, Bethea (Patrick Bethea Sr.), Monica Pinckney, Salena Pinckney Ebokpo (Stanley Ebokpo), Leroy Pinckney Jr. (Vernisha Pinckney) and Monica C. Davis; grandchildren: Kendrick N. Bethea, Patreace Emonie Bethea, Micah Charmarey Bratcher, Joshua Pinckney, Terrell J Darby, Tyrese Isaiah Pinckney and Tyler Xavier Pinckney; sisters: Pearl Johnson, Ernell Richardson Dingle (James Dingle), Pastor Jayne Richardson Prescott (Kirk Prescott), sister-in-law’s: Vivian Richardson and Beryl Richardson; brothers: Samuel (Diane) Richardson, Harry Richardson, James (Kaye) Richardson, Paul (Elizabeth) Richardson, Jerome Richardson, Lawrence Richardson, Richard Richardson; brother-in-law’s: James Pinckney, Robert Edward (Pearl Pinckney), Reuben Pinckney, Arthur Lee (Beverley Pinckney); along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
