Lorena Asbury

Lorena Asbury, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend has passed away. She fought a hard battle with a short illness to which she succumbed to at the age of 59.

Lorena was a Trekkie. She enjoyed action, horror, and sci-fi films. She enjoyed playing video games and joking around with her close family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing in her journals as well. If she would have followed her dreams, she could have been a great writer.

Lorena is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lee and Tommie Lee Asbury; grandmother Anna Taylor; aunts Pearline Perry and Rosa Lee Johnson; sister Shirley Asbury, and brother Nathaniel Asbury.

She leaves to cherish fond memories three children; Jermaine Asbury (Biruktawit) of Maryland, April Asbury (Ajali) of Georgia, and Chrystal Asbury of Georgia; Five grandchildren; Da’Shawn Asbury, Dajah Asbury, Isabella Asbury, Melanie Asbury, and Thomas Ross. Five sisters; Jeanette Asbury of Vance, SC, Betty Jean Asbury of New Haven, CT, Anna Lee Davis of Norwalk, CT, Geneva (Alfred) Jacobs of Bridgeport, CT, and Jannie (William) Williams of Norwalk, CT. Two good friends; Floyd Washington and Gwendolyn Clinton, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends that loved her dearly.
