Celebrating the Life of Lillie Mae (Maple) Lee- Mason Lillie Mae Lee-Mason, also known as” Maple,” the
daughter of the late Daniel Lee and Julia Richardson-Lee, was born March 14, 1937, in Cross, SC. She
peacefully departed this earthly life on Monday October 23, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Agape Hospice in
Summerville SC.
Lillie Mae received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County. Lillie Mae found great joy in
helping others, she went on to earn her certificate as a nurse’s assistant. She worked many years in her
field, helping the young as well as the old.
Lillie Mae attended the Nazareth Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Elder Benji S.
McMiller, is pastor. She served as a faithful member until she became Ill. Lillie Mae was a missionary, a
church mother and loved singing on the choir. Her pound cakes truly were amazing. She loved with the
love of Christ.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, auntie, grandmother and friend, she lived in Greensborough, N.C
for 10 years and Charlotte for over 50 years. On May 24, 1969, Lillie Mae Joined in matrimony, to the
love of her life Thomas Mason, who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving daughter; Mary Ruth Bryant-Seward, two stepdaughters:
Renee Huey and Jonell Mason both of Charlotte, NC; a special spiritual daughter and niece: Pastor
Maple Jackson; two nieces: Maryann Seward and Diane Wiche; grandsons: Jonathan Noah Seward and
Dejarrell Henderson and several special grandchildren; two brothers: Willie Lee, Jr. of Eutawville, SC and
Roosevelt (Doretha) Lee of Cross, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews. Lillie Mae had several deceased
brothers and sisters that preceded her in death. Lillie Mae will truly be missed by her family and friends.
