Mr. Johnny Banks, 75, of Holly Hill, was born January 16, 1949, to the Late Louis Banks and Annie Lee Sweat Banks in Orangeburg County, SC.
Mr. Johnny Banks received his wings on May 28, 2024 at MUSC Orangeburg Hospital.
Johnny attended Orangeburg County public schools and graduated from Roberts High School.
Johnny moved to New York and worked as a meat butcher. When he moved back home, he worked as a brick layer and a mechanic alongside his father.
Johnny was one of a kind that didn’t mind speaking his thoughts. His nickname was “Zoo Man.”
Johnny loved baseball. At one point during his sickness, he woke up and asked his brother, Bob, if he wanted to go outside and play baseball. Bob said to him, “Zoo Man, you could barely walk, you can’t play baseball.” He also liked to shoot pool. Johnny loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, three brothers and a son, Johnny Banks, Jr.
Those memories will be cherished by his sons Rasheem, Trent Errol Banks, Bryce Errol Banks; brothers, James Banks and William “Bob” Banks; grandchildren, Trent Errol Banks, Treasure Dior Banks, Johnnie Lee Banks III and a special cousin and close friend, Lawrence “Buster” Irick and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
