John H. Jefferson

Mr. John Henry Jefferson,69 of Holly Hill, South Carolina, transitioned from this life on Thursday, December 23, 2021. John Henry also known to many as “Bay” or “Mall” was born in Holly Hill, SC on June 28, 1952 to the late Jimmie and Sarah Jefferson.

John attended the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from Roberts High School. He grew up attending Unity Missionary Baptist Church with his parents and siblings. John moved to New York for a few years and later returned to Holly Hill where he lived out his life. He worked at South Carolina State University in the Food Service Department before he became ill.

John was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie Jefferson and Sarah Davis Jefferson as well as his brother William “Bozo” Jefferson.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Sawatha Jefferson; a loving brother, Rev. Alex (Zadie) Jefferson, Sr.; a devoted sister, Mariah Jefferson Gadson all of Holly Hill, SC; two grandchildren, an aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
