John Henry Benjamin, Jr.

We watched you suffer, we saw you die, but all we could do was sit close by. You
went away, we had to part, God eased your pain, but broke our hearts…..
Mr. John Benjamin II (affectionately known as Pixie) was born on June 19. 1959 in
Holly Hill, South Carolina to John and Louvenia Sanders Benjamin, Sr. of Holly Hill,
South Carolina.
He departed this life on Friday, November 17, 2023, at his residence surrounded
by his loving family.
At an early age, his family moved to Brooklyn, New York where he completed
both elementary and Middle school. John was a 1977 graduate of Holly Hill High
School. After high school, he attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in
Orangeburg, South Carolina.
At an early age he became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New
York under the leadership of the late Roy Edward Brown. He was a member of
New Way Church House of Ministries Worldwide.
After being employed as an Auto Sales Representative for many years, he retired
from JT Kia of Columbia, South Carolina, where he was known as “Mr. Clean” and
loved by all the staff members.
John was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. Two of which included
cooking for the family and fishing.
John was predeceased by his daughter, Tiffani Marie Benjamin, a brother, Bernard
Jerome Benjamin, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mr. John Benjamin II leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving and
devoted parents of the home, estranged wife, Cheryl Johnson Benjamin of
Columbia, South Carolina, one son, John Henry Benjamin III of Boston,
Massachusetts; two brothers; Jonathan (Sheila) Benjamin of Holly Hill, SC, and
Donald (Alinda) Benjamin of Blythewood, SC, five loving aunts, nieces,
nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
