Joe Louis Green, son of the late James Green, Jr. and Mary Gibbs Green, was born on November 20, 1959. He was reared in the Greenhill section of Pinopolis, SC. He departed this life Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Joe Louis attended the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating in 1979.
He was affectionately called "Jimmy" by many. He was also called WOLFIE, and POPS by his son. At an early age, Jimmy attended Nazareth R. E. Church with his family. He lived a life demonstrating the love of Christ.
Joe Louis love the outdoors. For quite some time he was pitcher for the Greenhill Phillies. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his love and companion, Sheila Haskell, and his sister Patricia Green Grant.
He leaves to cherish is fond memories: son, Julian Jason Haskell; granddaughter , Ja'Nayshia Janae Haskell; sister, Zada Green; aunts, Carrie Washington, Elizabeth Palmer, Odessa Green, Janie Mae Gibbs, nephew reared in home, Tyrone Grant; caregiver, Lou Ann Smith; and host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
