Jeff Washington Obituary

Jeff Saul Washington was born on September 14, 1963 in Baltimore Maryland to Val Jean Washington Tyson and the late Peter Tyson. He made his graceful exit from his fulfilling life here on earth Thursday morning, March 23, 2023 to be with the Lord.

Jeff graduated from Walbrook Senior High School in 1981. Later in 1981, he traveled to Ohio to further his education at the Bell Howell School of Technology where he earned his license for Plumbing. Two years later, he joined the military and was assigned to Alaska where he spent 2 years. After exiting the military, Jeff decided he wanted to become an entrepreneur. He became self employed as a plumber throughout the Beltway and Washington D.C. area for over 30 years.

Jeff married the love of his life the late Evelean Stackhouse Washington in 1987. They were married for 36 years.

Jeff is remembered for his adventurous spirit. He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in everyday life circumstances. He was the “sociable one.” It was his superpower. His departure has left a hole in the heart of his family and friends who were often entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He was a true lover of life. No matter what the circumstance or situation was, you had always left with a story of something funny or crazy Jeff did or said while you were with him. Additionally, Jeff possessed a giving spirit. He would give his last to someone who he thought was in dire need even it meant he would had to go without.

Jeff is now at peace, joined by his deceased love ones and friends. We can only imagine that it is a one of a kind fun family reunion. Today and forever Jeff flies free. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lottie and Jervey Washington Sr., and Mary and Will Tyson; father, Peter Tyson; wife, Evelean Washington; uncles: Booker T. Washington and Jervey Washington Jr.; aunts: Mary Lewis, Lucille Hunt and Dorothy Prezzy, plus numerous dear cousins.

Jeff was a light in sometimes this dark world and he will be deeply missed. Left on this side of eternity to cherish his memories are: his loving mother, Val Jean Tyson of Holly Hill SC; one son, Dean Mitchell of Baltimore MD ; one daughter, Ashley Bowels of VA; two stepdaughters: Darlene Stackhouse (Michael Smith) of Washington DC, Trena Stackhouse of Washington DC; four step grandchildren: Monique Stackhouse, Tevon Stackhouse, Cortez Stackhouse and Christian Smith of Washington DC; nine step great grandchildren: Niyla, Nahjai, Gelil, Jayla, Honesty, Tylin, Tatum, Brielle, and Makayla of Washington DC; Uncles: Joe Louis (Marjorie) Washington of Holly Hill SC, Bobby Tyson of High Point NC and a host of cousins, relatives and dear friends.
