Jasper Lewis, Jr

Mr. Jasper Lewis, Jr., the son of the late Jasper Lewis, Sr. and Hattie L. Pooser, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 6, 1967. He peacefully departed this early life on Saturday afternoon July 15, 2023 at his home.

Jasper, affectionately known as "Little J" and "Jazz" was raised in the home of his mother. He accepted Christ at an early age at Rock Hill AME Church in Vance, South Carolina.

Jasper received his early education from Holly Hill Roberts High School where he graduated class of 1985. He studied at Francis Marion University and Wake Forest Technical Community College. He was employed with the Substance Abuse Outreach Therapy Service as a counselor. He was OP/Case Manager at Sigma Health Service and also worked at Monarch Behavioral Health LLC.

Those left to cherish fond memories are Mother, Hattie L. Pooser; step-father, Hamp Pooser; Sister, Yvonne (William) Owens of Santee, SC, Lachan (Curtis) Mitchell of Summerville, SC, Yvonne Ellis of Jersey City, NJ; brothers, Eric Tutt of Newark, NJ, Brian (Shemika) Pooser of Roselle, NJ, Charles (Teresa) Grant of Hanover Township, PA; Aunts, Thelma (Cleo) Garner of Santee, SC, Elizabeth Void, Oneatha Clark, Joann Johnson, Naomi (Earnest) Wigfall; a godson, Jordan Garner; Special nieces, Laquanna Owens and Tawanda Owens and a host of relatives and friends.
