Saturday, May 8, 2021, we celebrate the life of Mr. James R. Miller, Jr., affectionately know to some as James Jr. and to others as Jameo. James was born on May 15, 1956, to the late James R. and Ethel Bell Miller, Sr. in Harlem, NY. He gained his angelic wings on Thursday, April 22, 2021, in Charlotte, NC.
James grew up and attended school in The Bronx, NY and graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School in 1974. After high school, he received his CDL license and became a Transporter.
James was employed as a Transporter for The Goodie Brand Trucking Company. In 2012, after retirement, James relocated to Charlotte, NC.
James loved his family unconditionally and loved spending time with them. James was a life-long fan of the New York Giants. He loved dancing, singing, and listening to music. His love for music crossed various genres. His face lit up when he heard his favorite songs: The Love We Had Stays on My Mind (Dru Hill), End of the Road (Boys II Men), and This is my Promise (The Temptations).
James was preceded in death by two siblings: Margaret Ann Sears and Johnny Wearing, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife, Renell S. Dreux-Miller of the home; six children whom he loved unconditionally: Lakisha N. Miller of Charlotte, NC, Christian C. Wheatley of Maryland, James Rich Wheatley of NY, NY, Marquiis E. Dreux of NY and Tynell E. Dreux and Domonique Unique Dreux both of Charlotte, NC; eight siblings: Ethel Mae Ravenell of Cross, SC, Ruth Ann Lovett of Pierre, IL, his twin sister, Jacqueline Fuller of Rock Hill, SC, Delephine Weldon, Reverend Willie(Betty) Waring, Nathaniel Waring, Martha (Leroy) Isaac, and Sarah R. Anderson, all of Holly Hill, SC; six grand-daughter, four grandsons, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly.
