Isaac Ruben (Ike, Slug) Middleton was born on March 11, 1946, to Sam Uley and Roseanne Middleton in Cross, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Trident Regional Medical Center.
After graduating from Cross High School in 1966, he went to live in Philadelphia PA for a while. Isaac quickly realized that Cross South Carolina is where he belongs. Not long after Isaac met his true love Inez Taste Middleton from Eutawville, SC. As a result, they got married on October 5, 1971. After returning home to Cross, he began working at OK Tires, kicking off a 44-year career. When he left OK Tires, he started working at the Naval Weapon Station in 1999.
Isaac became a member of St. Matthews AME Church in 2000. He served on the Trustee Board, Male Chorus, and was the custodian for the church.
Ike was always in the community helping others by cutting their grass with Bro. Peter Johnson. His hobbies were working in the yard and enjoying the sun.
Isaac Middleton was preceded by siblings Sam (Glad boy) Middleton, Rosa L. (Aunt Tita) Richardson, Jonas Middleton, Dessie Teaco, Rebecca Davis, Julia James, and Ernestine Seabrook.
