Howard Lee Davis, affectionately known as “Stover Lee” transitioned into eternal life on January 6, 2020. During his last days, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Stover Lee was born in Vance, South Carolina, on November 24, 1939, to the late Levy Davis and Celie Wright-Williams Davis. He joined Rock Hill AME Church at an early age. He attended Lodge Hall School in Vance, SC. Stover Lee was married to Willa Mae Washington who preceded him in death. To this union five children were born. He later fathered 2 more children.
Stover Lee’s work history included: employee of Belmont Park of Elmont, NY for many years; an independent contractor with several businesses using his skills to spray ceilings, install sheetrock and wallpaper in homes and businesses; an employee with Frank Drum Painting Contractors of Lincolnton, NC, bus driver for Santee Adult Daycare, and car salesman. Lastly, he was an employee with the Orangeburg County Solid Waste Department until he became terminally ill.
Stover Lee was predeceased by his parents, wife, and son, Howard “Ronnie” Davis; sister, Ruby (Williams) Harmon; brothers, Ben (BT) Williams, Raymond Williams, Julius (Five Cents) Williams, Fernell Williams, and Fred Davis.
To cherish his memories, Stover Lee leaves his children, Lisa Davis of Vance, SC:, Frankie (Bird) Davis, Alfred Davis, Sharon Davis and Tisha Moorer of New York; Karen (Trevor) Clinton of Columbia, SC; daughter-in-love, Beverly Asbury of Columbia, SC; one (1) brother, Woodrow (Shirley) Williams of Vance, SC; three (3) sisters-in-law, Eartha Lee Williams, Hattie Williams and Blondella Davis of Vance, SC; twenty (20) grandchildren; twelve (12) great grandchildren; one (1) great great grandchild; two (2) special nieces, Mary (Poochie) Williams of Columbia, SC and Junette Harmon-Bryant of Santee, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
