1958 ~ 2022
Gregory Dasher was born in Newark, NJ, on October 19, 1958 to the late Albert (A.D.) and Lula Mae Howell- Dasher. Gregory peacefully received his wings in Orangeburg, SC on February 25, 2022, after a brief illness.
Gregory was raised, worked, and educated in Newark NJ. One of his former employment was with the US Postal Service. He obeyed the gospel at an early age. He later relocated to Holly Hill, South Carolina to be with his mother, who meant the world to him. He became a member of the Lovely Hill Baptist Church. He loved Holly Hill (his earthly home) where he lived until the Lord whispered his name and called him home to rest.
Gregory was known as the sharpest dresser in the neighborhood where he grew up, Newark Shudder Homes. Having a great sense of style he was admired by his Zanzibar club peers. He was an avid fan of Western Movies, Law and Order Series, and Sounds of Motown, especially his beloved Temptations.
Gregory was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He claimed all his uncles were “his favorite” and was always there helping his uncles when needed. Children loved him. He call them all, “his little cousins” and always wanting to buy them treats.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lula Mae Howell- Dasher and brother Carlton Dasher.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Taeyma Sapp, Irvington, NJ, three brothers: Johnny (Cindy) Boyd Jr. Holly Hill, SC, Jan Dasher, Newark, NJ and Richard (Michelle) Dasher, New York , Grandchildren, Royal and Sincere Drew. Four uncles, Wallace (Helen) Brown, Easton, PA. Frank (Patricia) Brown, James (Audrey) Brown, and Earnest Brown, all of Holly Hill, SC. Aunt, Patricia Jeffrey of New Haven Connecticut, niece, Zakkiyah, nephews, Tysheim and Jan Jr., his loving and devoted friend until the end Barbara Jean Williams, stepfather, Franklin Rivers, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
