The late Gloria Mack McKissie was born to Victoria Watson Mack and the late James (Babe) Mack, Sr. on March 19, 1957 in Miami, Florida. Gloria joined Mt. Olive Church in South Miami at an early age. She attended Elementary School, Middle School, and South Miami Senior High School graduating in 1976. She enjoyed working with kids. In 1974 Gloria met James (Laquaine) McKissie and they were married on July 22, 1976 (44 years) and this union was blessed with three children. Gloria traveled the world with her husband to Germany, Texas, Kansas, and Georgia. In her travels she worked as a childcare teacher. She joined the Eastern Star and many other organizations in her life. She was a director of KinderCare Learning Center in North Lauderdale, Florida and also with Sunshine House in Columbia, SC.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Mack, Sr. and her brother, James Mack, Jr.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, James McKissie; three children: Shalika (Brandon) McKissie-Hudson, Tyree McKissie, and MarQuita (Franco) Cooper; mother, Victoria Mack; siblings, Charles (Gwen) Mack, Jerry (Vanessa) Mack, Vicky (Stephen) Harris, Kathy (Morris) Brothers, and Tyrone (LaQuita) Mack; mother-in-love, Christine McKissie; sister-in-love, Diane McKissie; brother-in-love, Leroy McKissie; eighteen grandchildren, Sedrecka Moody, Jahniya Reese, Jahnay Reese, King Brandon Hudson, King Denard Hudson, King Branard Hudson, Saydee Rodriquez, N’Rya Skyi Mckissie, Tyree’ana Mckissie, Nevaeh Wright, Tyree Wright, Tytiana McKissie, Chakirah McGowan, Tyree McKissie, Quanard Cox, LaTrell Christian, Travis Christian, and Sevyn Cooper; two great-grandchildren: Trophi Dukes and Khori Dukes; and seven step grandchildren through marriage: Braniaya, Mariah, Quinton, Franco, Caleb, Brandon, and Brian; special friends, Boniree, Juanita (Larry) Hudson, Edith Scott, Smilings Family, and Liz; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
