His Journey
Mr. Gerald Leroy Myers, the son of Leroy "Caine" Myers and Carolyn Myers, was born on May 17, 1978, in Charleston, South Carolina. His mother Carolyn, preceded him in death.
At an early age, Gerald became a member of Greater Unity AME Church in Holly Hill, South Carolina, where he served faithfully until relocating to the Charleston area.
Gerald was raised in Holly Hill and attended the public school of the area. From a young age, he developed a strong passion for music---a gift that became a meaningful part of his life. While attending Holly Hill Roberts High School, he joined the marching band and discovered his love for the trumpet.
After graduating from high school in 1996, Gerald began his career at Key West Boats. He later joined the Medical University of South Carolina, where he worked as a Supply Technician in the Central Supplies Department.
Gerald lived life in his own way--quiet, steady, and sincere. On October 29, 2025, God called him home to eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving father, Leroy Myers; his son, Gerladrian Myers, of Holly Hill; sisters, Michelle (Emmanuel) Prezzy of Holly Hill, SC; Patrice Myers, of Miami, Fl; Ashley Myers (Ryan Fuller) of Vance, SC; aunts, Valerie Myers of Atlanta, GA; Arnetha Thomas, Fran Thomas and Stephanie Thomas of Miami, FL; uncle Michael Dennis of Miami, FL; nieces, Ryaniaya and Ahriel Fuller; nephews, Terrell (Jasmine) and Malik Prezzy; Great Nephew, Emmanuel Prezzy; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
