Franklin Sweat

Franklin Sweat, born July 10, 1961, went to sleep on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. He was the son of Benjamin Sweat and the late Louise Gilmore Sweat Wiggins. He was born in Holly Hill, SC and attended Roberts Elementary School, then relocated to New York/New Jersey where he finished his schooling. He relocated back to Holly Hill in the 80’s.

Franklin’s hobbies were reading, writing, and playing musical instruments. His favorite instruments were the keyboard, the piano, and the guitar.

Franklin would take his daily walks faithfully and make the weekly trips to the library. He read many books, but his favorite book was the Bible. He always had an interest in spiritual things.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Louise Gilmore Sweat Wiggins and sister, Dorothy Mae Sweat Benjamin.

Franklin leaves cherished memories to his dad, Benjamin Sweat and step-mother Lurene Sweat of Holly Hill, SC; two brothers, Corel (Vera) Sweat of Columbia, SC and Joseph (Winnie) Sweat of Hillside, New Jersey; five sisters, Stella Nadine Brown of Charlotte, NC, Belinda (Ronald) Bland of Lawrenceville, VA, Rita (Timothy) Young of Columbia, SC, Cielita Kim (J Q) Halyard of Goose Creek, SC, and Stephanie Sally of Santee, SC; a special niece, Angie Johnson of East Waterboro, Maine and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
