Elder Anthony (Tony) Richardson

Anthony "Tony" Richardson was born in the Kitfield Community of Moncks Corner, South Carolina on December 19, 1955 to the late Abraham and Sarah Richardson. Three brothers preceded him in death. He was an Elder at Christ Fellowship.

He received his primary education form RA Ready Elementary School and his high school education from Berkeley High School, both in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. While at Berkeley, he was a member of the Stag Junior Varsity and Varsity teams as well as track runner. Football was his passion and he was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan! Upon graduation, Tony attended Fayetteville State University and was a member of the football team for a short period of time. He left FSU and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served his time and was honorably discharged. He late enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserves where he served in Desert Storm. Tony was employed by the Berkeley County School District on the custodial staff for 16 years and retired as Head Custodian in January 2021.

He attended local bible schools and enrolled at Liberty University School of Divinity. Tony received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Theology. He was dedicated and committed in his service for God. He ministered in prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, and the sick and shut-ins throughout the community. Tony was w Bible scholar with a repertoire of scriptures committed to memory. This love for God's word began during his childhood experience--the Joy Hill classroom--where they taught Sunday School, Catechisms and Bible Study. He also enjoyed sharing scriptures with others, more specifically at Walmart.

Tony's hobbies included running, where he participated in two marathons- New York and Bermuda. He annually participated in the Cooper River Bridge run. He also enjoyed playing drums and chess.

Lifetime memories will be held by his siblings: Benjamin F. Richardson, Ruth Richardson Morgan, both of Kitfield Community, Moncks Corner, SC; Julia Richardson Wright of Cross, SC and Carol Richardson Pinkney (Kenneth) of Orangeburg, SC; nieces: Yolanda, Shayla, Yvette, Moniek, and Kourtney (David); nephews: Benjamin Jr. (Annielle), Umar Raheem-EL aka Lamont (Sureeta), Shaun, Stephen, and Ryan; grandnieces/nephews, a plethora of first cousins, friends, and special friend, Linda McNeil.
