Mr. Edward Butler, 72, departed to his heavenly home on September 23, 2019. He was born on February 14, 1947 to the late Nehemiah Butler and Martha Singleton Butler. He is preceded in death by his brother Jessie Butler and sister Naomi Butler Green (Esau).
Edward attended Berkeley County schools but at a young age became interested in auto mechanics. He found himself fixing a lot of things around his home and the homes of family and friends. “Bunker” or “Bud” were nicknames given to him by family and friends but “Mr.Fix It” stuck the most. "Mr. Fix It" was always fixing something somewhere for somebody from cars, plumbing, and construction. Edward also enjoyed racing cars and making jokes. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He was always cooking something of some sort and making people laugh until there were tears in their eyes. “MR. FIX IT” was on it.
At an early age, Edward became a member of West Chapel Bible Way Church of Cross, SC. He also attended Central Baptist Church of Roanoke, VA and Greenland Baptist Church of Pineville, SC.
He moved to Roanoke, VA in the late 80’s and then obtained his certification from the City of Roanoke as a Water Plant Treatment Mechanic Technician. He worked for 30 years and retired just as his body began to decrease.
He was married to the late Sadie Bell Yeadon Butler in 1966 and from this union came five beautiful daughters. In 1999, he found the love of his life and married Brenda Baker Butler on November 4, 2013 with whom he leaves to cherish his memories.
