Edith McGruder, was the daughter of the late Joseph Waring and Mamie Dawson. She was born on April 11, 1936 in Hanahan, SC and departed this life on August 15, 2024.
Mother Edith was a graduate of Bonds Wilson High School (1953). She was also the Co-Chairman of the navy relief thrift shop and was the church secretary at Bethel AME. Mother was also a member of the Red Hat Club.
Her favorite pastime was to collect dolls and puzzles.
On June 6, 1954, Mother Edith Married, George McGruder and went on to have one son: Tyrone McGruder; and two daughters: Sharon McGruder and Sheryl McGruder whom preceded her in death. Mother was such a devoted housewife until the passing of her late husband.
Also preceding her in death, her siblings: Marion Waring, Andrew Waring, and Thelma Anderson and her niece: Diane Anderson.
She leaves to cherish loving memories: her special Niece: Stephanie Myers; God-Daughter: Cynthia Huger; Daughter-in-Law: Nadine Sims; Nieces and Nephews: Timothy Waring (Cynthia), Barry Waring, Odessa Williams, Eugene Waring (Connie), Eugeina Waring, Dwayne Waring, Tandrea Myers, Tevas Myers, DeAngelo Hair, Hules Mcloud, Salley Reese (Hillard), David Anderson (Cheryl), Vivian Pendergrass (Kenneth), Howard Anderson, and Carol Deas; Extended children: Airel Bennett and Latasha Williams; Bonus-Granddaughter: Mia Cade; A host of Grand- Nieces, Grand-Nephews, Great-Grand Nieces, Great-Grand Nephews, other relatives, family and friends.
