Dorothy was born in Holly Hill, South Carolina on March 11, 1955 to the late Alton Sellers and Dorothy S. Ross.
Dorothy attended the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from Roberts High School in 1972. She attended South Carolina State University. She was a faithful member of Greater Target A.M.E Church. She served faithfully on the Steward Board, Stewardess Board #3, Senior/Angelic Choir, Senior Usher Board, Women’s Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide Board and Sisters in Christ. Dorothy was a member of the Order of the Order of the Eastern Stars Elite Chapter #228. She loved being with her “Golden Girls” group. Dorothy worked for many years but people remember and loved her time at the “One Price” clothing store in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted and loving daughter, Nastassia Keanna Taylor, and the apple of her eye, TreZjore N. Grimes, granddaughter, both of the home; her brothers and sisters: Alton (Emma) Sellers, Jeffrey Tyrone Sellers, Barbarette Sellers, Sharon Ross Turner, Olivia (Bruce) Jamison, Kenneth (Priscilla) Brown, and Sandy (Clifford) Anderson; adopted sister, Connie Filer; Godchildren: Michael (Christi) Jenkins, Terra Lynette Clark, Jhane Kirkland, and Jairon (Tesha) Taylor; her beloved extended family: Beatrice Sweatman & Family, Mariah Gadson & Family, and Retha Grant & Family; adopted daughters: Dr. Alfriciquea (Kevin) Major, Itashia Cave, and Kela Clark; adopted son: Maverick Jackson; special friends for life: Joanna Kirkland, Juliet (Johnny) Bookhart, Jackie (Cleve) Cords, Gloria (Eugene) Johnson, Roscoe (Connie) Davis, and First Lady Justine (Rev.
